Each September, the OCC’s Annual Interfaith Youth Tour is held on a Sunday afternoon for hundreds of metro students ages 7th – 12th grade.  The young people (with adult leaders) visit houses of worship for different faiths to learn more about each religion.   Meeting the leaders, witnessing a worship experience, exploring the facility, and participating in a question & answer session of other faiths helps to build bridges of understanding, friendship, and mutual respect. Charter buses transport the youth and their sponsors to three quite different houses of worship in the Oklahoma City area. Interfaith  Youth Tours have included visits to Hindu Temple of Oklahoma City, Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ, East Sixth Street Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Muslim Grand Mosque Masjid Mu’min, Temple B’nai Israel, Sikh Gurdwara of OKC, Frontline Church Downtown, the Dharma Center of OKC,  Vien Giac Buddhist Temple, and the Baha’i Faith.

Organized by OCC’s Religions United Committee, the Interfaith Youth Tour has become one of the most popular highlights of the OCC calendar!  Youth groups, schools, and other organizations are invited to attend.
